My story

It began in Dublin,
in 2005

I am Chiara Borkus, one of the most well-known wedding planners in Italy. I have been planning luxury weddings for over twenty years. I embarked on this journey in 2005, when a chance meeting with the director of a destination wedding agency in Dublin changed my life forever. From that moment on I have dedicated my life to creating special and unforgettable moments with one goal: to become the best destination wedding planner in Italy.

After graduating in languages from the University of Perugia in 2006, I dedicated myself totally to the world of weddings. Specializing in the wonderful regions of the Castelli Romani and Tuscany, I created over 150 weddings in a decade building a reputation for impeccable attention to detail and for giving couples and their guests truly unique experiences.

In 2010 I brought my experience to Rome, consolidating my presence on the national scene. In 2015 I had the opportunity to work with Brenda Babcock Celebrations, who taught me so much about event planning refining my aesthetic taste and giving me the honor of contributing to luxury American weddings, leaving my distinctive signature on events of the very highest quality.

When asked about the motivation for my dedication to organizing weddings for almost twenty years, the answer comes spontaneously: "I love bestowing happiness." This job is not just a profession but an overwhelming passion. For me it is like art a passion deeply rooted in the realm of human emotions. It is about delving into the dreams and expectations of each couple, gently guiding them and helping make their most important moment a reality. Like a symphony, together we play our part in the first day of their new life together. My commitment is a promise of trust. Each wedding is a fresh opportunity to forge bonds that stand the test of time not just in the lead-up to the big day, but often long afterwards. The couples are not just clients: we often remain in touch, sharing their unfolding life, and I have been privileged to share in the many joys as these new families grow. When we agree to work together, we embark on a journey of dialogue a constant exchange of emails, messages and video calls. I recognize that organizing a wedding from afar can be challenging, but my mission is to turn every step into a stress-free experience, filled with fun and, above all, rich with heartfelt emotion. This is my calling my gift of love to the world.

How do we get started?

Once you've completed the contact form, I'll be in touch to schedule a complimentary video call. This initial meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss your vision. During the call, I'll share valuable tips and information to guide you through the wedding planning process.

When should we start the planning process?

To ensure a seamless destination wedding experience, it's recommended to start planning at least a year in advance or even sooner. This early start allows for greater availability when securing venues and vendors.

How do you operate?

I personally oversee and plan each wedding, collaborating with my dedicated team on the event days. While my team handles on-site coordination, all communication (including emails, video calls and phone calls) will be directly managed by me.

How do we choose vendors?

I'll provide a curated list of the best vendors in the area based on my experience. While you can choose vendors independently or bring them from the USA, I recommend those I've personally worked with or know well, ensuring a level of quality and reliability.

How do we collaborate with vendors?

Each vendor will present a contract for the bride and groom to sign, and a deposit will secure the event date. This direct engagement ensures clear communication and commitment from both parties.

Can we have a video call with a vendor?

Certainly, you can, in fact, it's recommended. Once availability and costs are confirmed, we can arrange a direct video call for you to get to know each other and discuss details. It's crucial for me that on your wedding day you are surrounded by people you know and who work for you, not strangers.

Do you offer pre-set packages?

No, I do not offer pre-set packages. Every wedding is unique, and I believe in tailoring my services to meet the specific needs and desires of each couple. Open communication is key, allowing me to understand your expectations and preferences to create a personalized and memorable wedding experience.

How frequently do we have video calls? Can we schedule impromptu calls?

You'll have one scheduled video call per month, increasing to two as we approach the event date. Additionally, we can arrange a quick last-minute call based on my availability. For swift and urgent inquiries there's a dedicated WhatsApp group chat, though wedding planning discussions are not conducted on WhatsApp.
