Scope of this policy

This policy explains how your personal data is collected, used and protected when you visit chiaraborkus.com, contact us or use our services, in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018. It does not apply to third-party websites you may reach through links on this site.

What personal data we collect

• Enquiry & contact data, when you complete the contact form or email us: your name, email address, telephone number (if provided), wedding or event date and the content of your message.
• Consultation booking data, information you share when scheduling a call or complimentary consultation.
• Comment data, if you leave a comment on a journal article: your name, email address, the comment itself and your IP address.
• Navigation & technical data, standard internet log information automatically received by our servers and certain services, such as IP address, browser and device type, referring pages and timestamps.
• Cookie data, as described in our Cookie Policy.
• Analytics data: we use Google Analytics (provided by Google Ireland Ltd.) to understand, in aggregate and anonymous form, how visitors use the website. Analytics cookies are set only after you give your consent through the cookie banner. We also use Google Search Console to monitor how the site appears in Google search results: Search Console processes aggregated data about search queries and does not set cookies on visitors’ browsers.

Purposes and legal bases

• To respond to your enquiries and provide information or quotes, legal basis: pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• To provide and manage our wedding-planning services, legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• To publish and manage comments, legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
• To ensure the security, integrity and correct functioning of the website, legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• To comply with legal, accounting and tax obligations, legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
• To send marketing communications, where applicable, only with your prior consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.

Providing your data is voluntary; however, without the data marked as required we may be unable to respond to your request or provide our services.

Recipients and third parties

Your data may be processed by trusted providers acting as data processors on our behalf, including our website hosting provider, our email service provider and the booking/scheduling tool we use. Some pages embed third-party content, Google Fonts (provided by Google) and video content from YouTube in privacy-enhanced “no-cookie” mode (provided by Google), which may receive your IP address when that content loads. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above: enquiry and consultation data for the time needed to handle your request and, where a working relationship begins, for the duration of the engagement plus any period required by law (for example, accounting and tax records for up to 10 years). Comment data is retained while the related article remains published. You may ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

Under Articles 15–22 GDPR you have the right to access your personal data and to obtain its rectification, erasure, restriction or portability, as well as to object to processing and to withdraw any consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).

Data security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections across the whole site.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
